This Cookie Policy explains how WellFedHippo.com uses cookies and similar technologies. It follows the Republic of Moldova’s Law No. 195/2024 on the protection of personal data, in force since 23 August 2026 and aligned with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Law No. 284/2004 on electronic commerce, which governs storing information on your device.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data

  • We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because our processing does not require one under Law No. 195/2024.

2. What Cookies Are

  • Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device.
  • They let the site work, remember your choices and, if you agree, help us understand how the site is used.
  • Some cookies identify your browser or device. When they do, the data they collect is personal data and is protected under Law No. 195/2024.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use and Why

  • Essential Cookies: basic operation (login sessions, security and remembering your cookie choice). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. No consent needed.
  • Functional Cookies: your settings and enhanced media display. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Analytics Cookies: measuring site traffic with Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Third-Party Embed & Widget Cookies: embedded YouTube videos, Facebook/Instagram widgets and our TrustedSite verification badge. Legal basis: your consent.

4. How We Ask for Your Consent (Complianz)

  • On your first visit, a cookie banner from Complianz lets you accept, reject or choose by category.
  • No non-essential cookie is set before you agree. Ticking boxes in advance, scrolling or continuing to browse does not count as consent.
  • «Reject» is as easy to use as «Accept», and rejecting does not stop you from reading the site.
  • We keep a record of your choice (date, categories chosen and the version of this policy) so we can show what you agreed to.
  • WellFedHippo.com is not directed at children. Under Moldovan law, a child under 14 needs a parent or legal guardian to consent on their behalf.

5. How to Change or Withdraw Consent

  • You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the «Cookie Settings» link in our footer. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
  • Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
  • You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect some features, but not your access to our content.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) measure site traffic. They only run after you consent, with IP addresses masked and Google’s data sharing turned off. We do not use them for advertising, ad personalisation or retargeting.
  • TrustedSite shows a verification badge and sets its own cookie to work. It loads only with your consent.
  • YouTube, Facebook and Instagram embeds load their cookies only if you enable them or interact with them.
  • These providers process data under their own privacy policies, which are linked in the Complianz cookie overview on this site.
  • We do not run third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.

7. Transfers Outside the Republic of Moldova

  • Some providers above, especially Google and Meta, may process data in the European Union or the United States.
  • Transfers to EU/EEA countries are allowed under Law No. 195/2024. Transfers to other countries, including the United States, take place only under the safeguards that law provides, such as standard contractual clauses offered by the provider.

8. What Data Is Collected and How Long It Is Kept

  • Analytics cookies record pseudonymous usage data, such as pages visited, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, and referring site. Full IP addresses are not stored.
  • We do not use cookies to collect your name, email address or other contact details.
  • Retention: your cookie consent choice is stored for 31 days, after which the banner asks again. Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months and then deleted automatically. Exact cookie lifetimes are listed in the Complianz cookie overview.

9. Your Rights

Under Law No. 195/2024 you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • rectification of inaccurate data;
  • erasure («right to be forgotten»). See our Data Deletion Request page;
  • restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent at any time, as described in Section 5.

To exercise a right, email us at the address in Section 1. We reply free of charge within one month. For complex requests we may extend this by two more months, and if so we tell you within the first month.

10. Updates to This Policy

  • We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect legal or technical changes. The current version is always on this page, with its «Last updated» date.
  • If we make a material change, such as adding a new cookie category or provider, the consent banner will ask for your consent again.
